The Ssuper EIP project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at tackling the critical slurry management challenges faced by farmers in Ireland, particularly within the Upper Erne catchment area. As Ireland’s dairy and beef sectors continue to grow, slurry management has become a pressing concern for farmers, environmental regulators and local communities. Current practices in dealing with slurry have had and continue to have significant negative impacts on water quality, soil health and emissions. Leading to serious long-term consequences for both farming operations and the environment. This project sets out to address these issues by implementing innovative, sustainable practices to transform slurry management, improve environmental outcomes and enhance the sustainability of Irish farming.

AIMS
The project is expected to demonstrate that improved slurry management, separation, biological remediation and regenerative soil practices can deliver measurable benefits for both farm productivity and the wider environment.
- Improved slurry management
- Improved nutrient efficiency
- Improved soil functionality
- Reduced nutrient losses to water
- Reduced environmental emissions
- Greater resilience

Slurry Solutions EIP Separator
The key innovation of this project is its holistic, systems-based approach to slurry management. Rather than treating slurry solely as a waste-management challenge, the project considers the complete slurry cycle from microbial composition, separation and treatment, through storage and application, to its impacts on soil health, water quality, air quality and farm economics.
