Project Manager

Denise Moran is an experienced business owner, project manager, and certified organic farmer, she brings over three decades of leadership across agriculture, enterprise, and community development. Currently farming using regenerative principles on a traditional mixed farm, she combines practical land stewardship with a growing focus on soil health and sustainable systems. Aa farmer and an independent Soil Health Consultant since 2022, Denise works at the intersection of agriculture and environmental innovation. This led her to apply for a European
Innovation Partnership in 2024 on Environmental Sustainability, focusing on sustainable farming systems for intensive agriculture at local and landscape levels and protecting and restoring our soils and their sustainable use. Upper Erne Slurry Solutions, SSuperEIP is engaging directly with large-scale dairy operations and other farming systems to address challenges in slurry management. A committed community leader, Denise served as Vice-President and President of Ballyhaunis Chamber of Commerce (1996–2000), where she led major initiatives including
festivals, trade shows, infrastructure upgrades, and a €22 million storm water and sewerage improvement programme. She played a key role in advocating for local business interests, liaising with government bodies, and driving environmental improvements in collaboration with industry stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and local authorities. This included sustained engagement with the local meat processing plant, the EPA, Inland Fisheries, and the County Council to resolve significant environmental concerns. With core strengths in leadership, facilitation, project management, and public communication, Denise continues to advocate for sustainable agriculture, resilient communities, and practical environmental solutions.

Finance Manager

Richard Jones An accomplished company director, investment manager, and project financier, Richard brings over 25 years of experience across property development, structured finance, and investment advisory. His career has been defined by a dual perspective: as both a developer preparing complex financial proposals for commercial lenders in London and Dublin, and as an investor providing risk capital, equity, and mezzanine finance to international projects in the property and mining sectors. Earlier in his career, he served as Estates Manager for Eton College, overseeing a £40 million
property portfolio. In this role, he developed a strong commitment to fiduciary responsibility, gaining a reputation for placing integrity and stewardship above commercial expediency—an ethos that has remained central throughout his professional and voluntary work. He has carried this commitment into community roles, including service as a parish treasurer in England and ongoing involvement in parish and heritage initiatives in Ireland. Over the past decade, he has transitioned into organic and regenerative farming, applying his analytical and strategic expertise to land stewardship. He is deeply committed to advancing environmentally sustainable agricultural practices and contributing to the restoration of soil
health and biodiversity. He holds an MA and MPhil from the University of Cambridge, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Theology from the Milltown Institute, Dublin. He is a former Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (ARICS).

Claire Thompson works in project administration with a strong grounding in ecological systems and land-based practice. Her background spans biodynamics, permaculture, herbalism, ecology and foraging, underpinned by an early qualification in Nutritional Medicine that sparked a lifelong interest in food quality and human health. Claire is currently Chairperson of the Inishowen Rivers Trust, with her commitment to water quality rooted in both an ecologically informed upbringing and her love of kayaking. She is also Co-Chairperson of the All-Ireland Permaculture Association and has been actively involved in a wide range of environmental and community organisations over many years.

Technical Assistant

Kevin Moore is a regenerative soil microscopist and consultant working with farmers across Ireland. He graduated from the Soil Food Web School in 2021 with distinction and has been a student of Matt Powers since 2014, becoming the first person in Ireland to train directly with Matt in Regenerative Soil Microscopy. Kevin’s path into regenerative soil came from time spent on the water  (as an avid angler, a qualified National Angling Guide and a commercial fisherman) where he witnessed first-hand the steady decline in water quality. That experience now underpins his work, which is focused on restoring soil biology as a practical, farmer-led solution to improving waterbodies, ecosystem health and long-term resilience.

Education Officer

Ryan Harkin I’m an Agriculture Education Facilitator with a strong science foundation and a holistic approach to ecosystem regeneration and soil health. My background includes a degree in science, training across nutrition and gut health, and years of experience working in and out of education, including specific adult education training through NUI Galway. Over time, my focus moved naturally from human health to land health—bringing the same principles of biology, balance, and resilience into farming systems. Much of my higher-level agricultural learning has come through NOTS certification and continuous professional development, alongside experience delivering modules with the ETB, and corespondance from farmers practicing regenerative agriculture across different contexts. My aim is practical, farmer-focused support that helps build healthier soils.
